Where We Build
In Public
Real engineering. Real trade-offs. Real systems. These are the projects we've built, the problems we've solved, and the architectural decisions we've made — documented in full so others can learn from them.
Nendi
A Kafka-Free Database Streaming Daemon in Rust
Nendi is a standalone, high-performance Change Data Capture daemon built in Rust. It collapses the traditional Debezium → Kafka → Consumer pipeline into a single binary, targeting sustained throughput of 100,000+ writes per second on commodity NVMe hardware — without a JVM in sight.
Technology Stack
- Rust Core daemon language
- RocksDB Embedded LSM-tree log store
- gRPC / tonic Bidirectional streaming egress
- PostgreSQL Source via logical decoding
- Tokio Async runtime
- rkyv Zero-copy serialization
Sando
An Event-Driven Media Processing Platform in Rust
Sando is a production-grade media server built in Rust. It handles the full lifecycle: chunked upload with SHA-256 deduplication, GPU-accelerated transcoding (NVENC / QSV), HLS/DASH adaptive streaming, and real-time signed URL delivery.
Technology Stack
- Rust + Tokio All 7 services, async runtime
- Apache Kafka Event bus, 8 typed topics
- PostgreSQL + MongoDB Dual persistence — metadata + audit
- FFmpeg + NVENC GPU-accelerated transcoding
- Redis Locks, rate limiting, URL cache
- S3 / MinIO Object storage for variants
URLs
A URL shrink ray written in Rust
URLs turns bloated links into compact codes through a stateless codec or a memory-efficient stateful store. Its sealed minimal perfect hash index holds 4.3 million URLs in about 14.9 MB of RAM, with zero-copy reads from memory-mapped logs.
Technology Stack
- RustCore engine
- MPHFSuccinct sealed index
- mmapZero-copy reads
- BitcaskAppend-only state store
- Base66Five-character keys
More Case Studies Coming
We're actively building Pori (secure tunneling), Colink (networking), and several client engagement systems. Each will be documented here as we ship.
